John L. Politte joined Hochschild, Bloom & Company LLP in 1961 as a staff accountant and was accepted as a partner in 1970. His responsibilities included managing the Firm’s Washington office staff and implementing practice development programs. He has been team captain on various peer and quality reviews for the Firm and for IA International. In addition, Mr. Politte has direct client responsibilities for current clients.
Mr. Politte graduated from St. Louis University in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and is retired as a Lt. Colonel of the Infantry. He received his CPA certificate (CPA certificate number 2917) in 1967 and is licensed to practice in the State of Missouri. In 1991, he was awarded the Certificate of Educational Achievement in the Governmental Accounting and Auditing Program of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Accounting and Auditing Technical sessions of the State and St. Louis Chapter Missouri Society of CPAs have been chaired by Mr. Politte. Mr. Politte participates annually in a variety of professional development courses. He has been a speaker on technical subjects at various conferences at the international, national and state levels.
Mr. Politte is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and was an active member of the Institute’s Statistical Sampling Subcommittee. He was a member of the task force commissioned by the Auditing Standards Board of the AICPA which issued the Guide on the use of sampling in auditing. His past service for Polaris IA International (an affiliation of independent accounting firms) included the chairmanship of the Membership Committee and membership on the Board of Directors.
He is a member of the Missouri Society of CPAs and was a member of the Society’s Quality Review Program Executive Committee. He is a former member of the Society’s Accounting and Auditing Procedures Committee. He was chairman of the St. Louis Chapter (Missouri Society of CPAs) Accounting and Auditing Committee in 1979-80 and chairman of the Missouri Society’s 1982 Accounting and Auditing Workshop.
He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Washington Missouri Area Chamber of Commerce and is a Board member and chairman of the Washington Civic Industrial Corporation’s Finance Committee. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Washington Industrial Development Authority for over fifteen years. He is currently registered in the Platinum Edition of Who’s Who Worldwide.
